August has a little bit of everything. It is the month when summer starts to feel different, with long days still hanging around but the feeling of a new season getting closer. For many people, August means the end of summer vacation, back-to-school routines, warmer afternoons, and the first hints of fall. This month's collection brings together that mix of energy, nostalgia, quiet, and change through fifteen artworks spanning more than two centuries. The month opens with Winslow Homer's *School Time*, a fitting reminder of the return to classrooms and familiar routines. From there, the collection moves through very different landscapes and moods. Paul Cézanne's *The Bend in the Road* and Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot's *Bridge on the Saône River at Mâcon* bring us outdoors, while James McNeill Whistler's *Battersea Reach* and Philip Guston's *Midnight Pass Road* offer more atmospheric views. There are also intimate moments, like Édouard Vuillard's *Child Wearing a Red Scarf* and Harold Gilman's *Sylvia Darning*, where ordinary scenes become the focus of the artwork. August also has plenty of bold color. Andy Warhol's *Campbell's Soup Cans* brings one of the most recognizable images in modern art into the collection, while *Chrysanthemums* and *Queen Zenobia Addressing Her Soldiers* show how color can work in very different ways across still life and historical painting. Together, these works make August feel like a transition. There is still plenty of summer here, but there is also a sense of movement toward whatever comes next.
